Wattle Cafe

Murray Hill, Manhattan

Infusing Art into Coffee Culture

Nestled in the heart of Kip's Bay, Wattle Cafe stands as an Australian-owned coffee shop, renowned for its artisanal, health-conscious offerings, including vegan delicacies, coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Seeking to complement its iconic yellow, black, and white theme, Owner Ana Ivkosic embarked on a journey to embellish the café's western wall with a mural that captures the essence of Australia's unique twist on traditional coffee and organic cuisine.

Drawing inspiration from Wattle Cafe's distinctive color palette—yellow, black, and white—the mural design encapsulates the café's coffee philosophy in a visual narrative. This concept evolved into a captivating aerial depiction of a decorative plate and saucer positioned beneath Wattle Cafe's signature yellow mug. The mug brims with an optical illusion of swirling patterns, while at its center lies the café's emblem: the golden wattle, Australia's national flower. This botanical emblem symbolizes the essence of Australian culture and identity.

Placed at the core of their flagship product, the logo becomes a testament to the meticulous presentation and care that Wattle Cafe dedicates to its offerings, enhancing the customer experience. It's a poignant homage to the owner's heritage, reflecting an unwavering commitment to Ana Ivkosic's nationality and cultural roots.
