CRAZY 8 Cartoon Festival: A Vibrant Celebration of Art and Animation
The CRAZY 8 Cartoon Festival stands as a distinctive one-day/night event, defined by its comic and cartoon art theme. This signature occasion unfolds within the span of a single block on West 8th Street, located between 5th and 6th Avenues in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of NYC. Presented in collaboration with the Village Alliance and the local Business Improvement District, the event is an exuberant celebration featuring 8 Hours of Animation, 8 Hours of Comic and Cartoon Art, 8 Hours of Family Art Projects, 8 Dollar Cartoonified Cocktails, 8 Dollar Cartoon Tattoos, and an 8 Minute Street Parade. Designed to captivate families, tourists, and cartoon enthusiasts alike, it offers a unique space to dine, drink, participate, and revel in entertainment.
As part of the festival's diverse programming, ALBOE was invited to take over a private alcove within Burger Joint, where a custom mural was created live for the customers. This event was aptly dubbed "Burgers, Booze, and Bomb Ass Art."
The dynamic live mural transformed the space into an engaging hide-and-seek game, with 8 original characters cleverly concealed among the array of cartoons. This inventive addition added an extra layer of excitement and interaction to the festivities.
